Susan Mayer aka Teri Hatcher Insults Filipinos
Posted on 2007 under teri hatcher, susan mayer, serie, desperate housewives, entertainment, youtube |I was surprised when I read on a news online that many filipinos were reacting to the serie Desperate Housewives. I browsed directly on youtube to check what it is all about. In the scene where Mayer was being checked up by a doctor, she asked for the man’s credentials and said, “Can I check those diplomas ‘coz I just want to make sure that they’re not from some med school in the Philippines.” Isn’t it insulting guys? They should come and try our doctors here to see how good filipinos are. Even if our country isn’t a rich one, but that doesn’t mean at all that we are uneducated and not talented. It is very unfair and we all know that there are many good doctors who graduated in Philippines and are working in foreign countries. I am very much sure that this actress and other famous hollywood people have tried the filipino doctors in their country. This serie has absolutely tarnish the good image of filipinos in foreign land and internationally. I find it very racist. Aliens or foreigners in other countries must realize that their hospitals cannot function well without these filipinos working in their country. I don’t really care who this actress is but the staffs of this serie must ask an apology. They should be careful with their words. Sorry but it is really disappointing seeing something like this.

putik! favorite ko pa naman siya sa lahat ng wives dun! balak ko ng iboycott ang series na yan. Nag sorry na sila pero huli na ang lahat, nasira na pangalan ng mga med schools sa Pinas!:(

kainis nga.hubby and i were discussing about this matter din.although iba sila mag isip pero ako pa rin nanalo with our debate here at home.they should be careful with their words before they’ll hurt others feelings

I totally agree with you, but Teri didn’t write what she had to say …. It’s not her fault ! Even though this is kind of racism, she’s not the culprit …

well, it’s teri hatcer’s fault aswell because she should have questioned the script knowing she’s a public figure…why did she not question the script especially for the mere fact that discrimination of race is a sensitive issue here in the states…she’s a role model and a public figure….so she’s basically liable for her the networks ignorance.
